Is there a fee to attend the meetings?
No. The meetings are free. From time to time, we may request donations to help with expenses such as web-hosting fees, books and literature, copies, advertising, etc.

I can't get a babysitter. Can I bring my baby or small child to the meetings?
We would prefer that babies and small children be left at home with a caregiver. Babies cry, which would be distracting to the other attendees. Small children would most likely be bored and restless, which would also be distracting to the other attendees. Besides, it would be easier for YOU to get the help and information you need if you are not being distracted by your child.
I am scared to go to the meeting by myself. Can I bring a friend or relative who does NOT have HSV or HPV?
Yes, you may bring someone with you, as long as that person understands the nature of the meeting and agrees to respect the privacy and confidentiality of our attendees.

What types of people attend the meetings?
All kinds of people. HSV and HPV can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, creed, socioeconomic background, or sexual preference. Although we might not have a lot in common on the outside, we are all alike on the inside and are all here for the same reason: to learn to cope with an HSV or HPV diagnosis, get information, and get or offer advice and support.
What happens at the meetings?
It depends. Generally it is a group of people with herpes or HPV sitting around and talking, asking questions, and sharing advice and support. The meetings are chaired by a knowledgeable, caring volunteer who will do their best to offer you advice and answer any medical questions you might have.
From time to time, we hold special meetings that cover a specific topic and have guest speakers, such as doctors, researchers, nutritionists, therapists, etc.
